Prior to joining Compass Executives, John held several senior marketing positions with large companies in financial services, science, engineering and technology and has served as a consultant to a long list of familiar brands in health care, life sciences, technology, hospitality and financial services. Most recently, he was CEO of a small, specialized electronics business serving the international performance automotive engine market.
John has deep experience in “change marketing” and branding strategy driven by mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, IPOs and business re-engineering. He has led such efforts in more than a dozen large transactions. He has created and launched high-profile business partnerships that have quickly achieved profitability.
In both corporate and consulting roles, he has aided a wide range of companies in clarifying their brand strategies, launch new products, launch major new market entries and new products, maximize the efficiency and effectiveness of their marketing staffing, external agencies and marketing budget resources. Along the way, he has become expert at helping leadership teams achieve strategic consensus on a wide range of business and marketing challenges.
He has served as a guest lecturer at Vanderbilt University and George Mason University and currently serves as a volunteer business mentor with the Pathway Women’s Business Center in Nashville.
